Television Appearances

Hugh has done a lot of television, mainly in the UK. This page lists Hugh's appearances as a performer or presenter, with clips and screencaps where possible. (I'll be adding more as I find source recordings and have time to get what I have uploaded.) Appearances for charity have been split out onto a separate page. The sources I've used to identify Hugh's appearances are:

Some of the UK shows have appeared in the US on PBS, BBC America, or other cable channels. Some of these have been released on VHS or DVD at one time or another, usually in both the UK and the US. (They are pretty easy to find on eBay). If a more details link is provided, there is a separate page with additional information about the show.

For more information about the clips & screencaps on this site, please visit the welcome page.

Fortysomething Jun - Aug 2003 7:54 excerpt from episode 5 of this 6 episode series in which Hugh played Paul Slippery. In this episode, Paul's wife Estelle has enlisted his children, colleagues, and friends to plan a surprise party for Paul. Paul, as usual, gets the wrong end of the stick and thinks Estelle is having an affair. Multiple affairs, actually, with all Paul's friends. In the clip, Paul gets his drink on, sings the blues, and embarrasses his children.

MechaNick 2003-4 Hugh narrated 2 40 episode (7 minutes each) series of this animated children's show. The narration pops up for a few seconds here and there in each episode.

This 1:31 clip is from "Mud, Glorious Mud" and includes most of Hugh's narration. Sorry about some of the rough transitions; there are about 10 little bits stuck together.

The screencaps are from the entire episode, so probably give you a better idea of what the show is like.
